چکیده

Abstract Isotomus speciosus is a polyphagous insect that damages coniferous and deciduous trees. There no study on the male reproductive system of I. although it an important pest. For this purpose, anatomy histology were investigated using light scanning electron microscopy. According to results obtained, consists pair testes (each with separate testis lobes), two pairs vasa efferentia, deferentia, ejaculatory duct, aedeagus, three accessory glands. Each lobe has about 65 follicles. Testis sperm development stages (growth, maturation, differentiation). connected vas deferens via efferens. are masses mature completely fill lumen deferens. The efferens cylindrical epithelium, cubic epithelium. then opens into aedeagus by duct. duct intima layer spines, monolayer muscle layer. In study, similarities differences in organs other coleopteran species revealed.

Light and scanning electron microscopic study of the lingual structure in the budgerigar (Melopsittacus undulatus)

BACKGROUND: The tongue, which plays a very important role in food intake by vertebrates, exhibits significant morphological variations that appear to represent adaptation to the current environmental conditions of each respective habitat. OBJECTIVES: The aim of the present investigation was to investigate lingual structure in adult budgerigar. METHODS: Tongues of 12 adult budgerigars were used ...

Tongue structure in the long-eared hedgehog (Hemiechinus auritus): A scanning electron microscopic study

The aim of this study was to investigate the dorsal surface of the long-eared hedgehog tongue using scanning electron microscopy. The tongue of the long-eared hedgehog is rectangular-shaped with an elongated body and a widened root and a marked deep median groove can be seen on its dorsal surface. A characteristic feature of the lingual root is presence of two huge laterally situated folds. The...

Light and electron microscopic study of the tongue in the White-eared bulbul (Pycnonotus leucotis)

The aim of the present study was to investigate the light and electron microscopic structure of the tongue in White-eared bulbul (Pycnonotus leucotis). Six adult White-eared bulbul (3 males and 3 females) in Shahrekord district were used in the investigation. Samples of the apex, body and root of the tongue were prepared routinely for light and electron microscopic study. Results showed that th...

Varied light and scanning electron microscopic appearances of barium sulphate in smears and histological sections.

The various light and scanning electron microscopic appearances of barium sulphate in smears and in histopathological lesions in sections are illustrated. One type of barium sulphate (E-Z-HD) includes much larger, bright birefringent particles and has very different appearances from other widely used types. Such larger particles in sections were not originally suspected to be barium sulphate an...

Report of fungal isolates and their efficacy against Rosaceous longhorn beetle, Osphranteria coerulescens (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae)

The Rosaceous longhorn beetle (RLHB), Osphranteria coerulescens Redtenbacher (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) is a significant pests of fruit orchard in Iran and it is costly to control it. During an ongoing project on natural enemies of O. coerulescens in Mashhad region, North East of Iran, two isolates of entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) were isolated as natural pathogens on the larvae. The fungal isol...
